Social Media & Online Presence Policy
This policy is intended to protect your privacy, maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries, and help you make informed decisions about interacting with me online.
Professional and Personal Accounts
I may maintain professional websites, social media accounts, newsletters, blogs, podcasts, guided meditations, or other educational content. I also maintain personal online spaces that are separate from my professional practice.
To protect the therapeutic relationship and your confidentiality, I do not accept friend requests, follow requests, or connection requests from current clients on personal social media accounts.
Following Professional Accounts
You are welcome to follow, subscribe to, or engage with my professional social media accounts, newsletter, or other educational content if you choose. However, please be aware that doing so may affect your privacy. Depending on the platform and your personal settings, others may be able to see that you follow, subscribe to, or interact with my content.
Your decision to engage or not engage with my online content will not affect our therapeutic relationship.
Direct Messages and Online Communication
Social media messaging, direct messages, comments, and other online platforms are not secure or confidential forms of communication.
Please do not use social media or online messaging platforms to:
Discuss therapy-related concerns
Share confidential or sensitive information
Request clinical guidance
Schedule or cancel appointments
Contact me regarding urgent matters
If you need to contact me regarding scheduling or administrative concerns, please use the communication methods outlined in your informed consent documents.
Reviews and Testimonials
Due to the importance of protecting client confidentiality and maintaining ethical boundaries, I do not solicit testimonials or reviews from current or former clients.
If you choose to leave a public review, please understand that doing so may reveal your status as a client. For confidentiality reasons, I will not respond to public reviews.
Online Searches
I do not routinely search for information about clients online, including through social media platforms, search engines, or public records.
If there is information online that you believe is relevant to your treatment, I encourage you to bring it into session so we can discuss it together.
Public Interactions
If we happen to encounter one another in public or online, I will not acknowledge our therapeutic relationship unless you choose to do so first. This is done to protect your privacy and confidentiality.
Educational Content Disclaimer
Information shared through my website, newsletter, blog, social media accounts, workshops, guided meditations, videos, podcasts, or other educational resources is provided for informational and educational purposes only.
Engagement with this content does not establish a therapist-client relationship and should not be considered psychotherapy, mental health treatment, clinical advice, or a substitute for professional care.
Questions
If you have questions about this policy or how I use social media and online platforms in my practice, please feel free to discuss them with me during a session.
